Nicki Marshall is an editor with over 30 years’ commercial publishing experience, including 20 years specialising in children’s fiction.
Nicki works as a freelance editor for publishers and organisations, providing support across the full editorial process. Clients include Harper Collins, Farshore, Scholastic, Fox & Ink, Guppy Books, Pushkin Press, and The British Library. She is also a mentor for All Stories, supporting writers from underrepresented backgrounds.
Nicki has been an industry editor and mentor for the Golden Egg Academy since its inception, and took on the role of Senior Mentee Support Editor in 2021. She loves helping every writer to discover the heart of their story and develop its connection with the contemporary reader. Her previous mentees have included Annaliese Avery, Olivia Wakeford and Perdita & Honor Cargill.
Recent publishing projects include: Structural editing on Philippa Gregory’s Normal Women (12+ edition); Editorial project management for Tasty Tales by Anna Lena Feunekes; Copy/line editing Alexander Armstrong’s Evenfall; Copy editing GIRLS by Annet Schaap; Proofreading Katherine Webber’s Captain of Fates and Catherine Doyle’s King of Beasts.
