Golden Egg Turns One
In only a few weeks’ time, Golden Egg will be celebrating its first birthday. To coincide with our anniversary, we will be launching our brand new website featuring a new events calendar, simpler bookings and member accounts to allow you to track your progress through the Golden Egg journey. Along with our shiny new website we’re introducing new fully residential two day workshops at The Lighthouse (Tytherington, Frome). The first of which will be in February with ‘The Art Of Story’.
We know you’re going to love it just as much as we do. Situated in acres of beautiful green land, you can stroll around the lake, take a swim in the heated pool, have a treatment or just stay up late chatting next to the fireplace with only a small stumble to bed afterwards!
Workshop prices will now include B&B for Saturday night/Sunday morning. Lunch is still on us! We’ve also negotiated the special price of £40 should you be travelling far and wish to arrive on Friday night or extend your stay. Just contact them directly and let them know you’re with us!
The Line Up
This year, we will be bringing you a more refined Golden Egg programme. There will be an Editorial Surgery monthly so that you can follow up any of our workshop sessions with your editor. We’re also bringing you a selection of new workshops, including ‘The Art of Story and Plot” and ‘Trans-media and Pitch”. allergy relief. All of our workshops and surgeries can be booked through our website however you may want to talk to your editor first to ensure you’re attending those that will be most beneficial to you!
All Action and No Tension
We launched a brand new workshop last month entitled ‘Action and Dramatic Tension’. We had a full house of passionate and interesting members, all keen to hone their skills. After a weekend with Beverley, Bella, and author, Sophia Bennett, we had a room full of confident writers buzzing with ideas, ready to jump on their novels and inject a little of what they’d learnt.
Chicken House Scholarship
Raonaid Ryn has been awarded a free Chicken House Scholarship Weekend with Golden Egg and Imogen in Frome.
A Chicken House scholarship consists of an intensive weekend one2one, to help prepare outstanding manuscripts that Chicken House hope they can take further towards publication. These scholarships will be awarded occasionally to writers of particular interest to Chicken House.
