Developing Character to Drive Plot

All fiction is part autobiographical. The imagination is fired by your own experiences, memories and relationships. It’s what makes every story unique. That’s why, as writers, it’s crucial to understand your connection with the characters and stories we create; to explore your experiences and how you might be shaping or resolving them in your story; and how you can break out and imagine new experiences for your characters.
This workshop will help you develop character and power your plot by answering the questions:

  • What’s my personal connection with my character and story?
  • How can I draw on my own experiences to drive character and story forward?

This workshop is part of our Academy Plan. You can book this via the shop.
