This workshop was born out of the realisation that the story-telling and rehearsal process that lies at the heart of dynamic acting is very similar to that at the heart of writing for children.
Creating a bond with the reader is taken a step further by using props and method-writing to better inhabit your characters and examine their motivations and raisons d’être. You will use acting techniques to examine the status and relationships between characters; how children’s points of view and perspectives change as they age; non-verbal interaction between characters; and your characters greatest fears and desires.
The workshop shows you where to focus and helps you to answer the questions:
- What do my characters really want and need?
- How can I use method-writing to enhance my work?
