You’ve had the rejection letters and feedback: ‘Not a lot happens; Doesn’t grip me enough; Not surprising or exciting enough to hold attention in a very competitive market; Not enough happens to sufficiently engage young readers against everything else competing for their attention; Too slow; Not keeping me turning the pages; Good opening, but then everything goes slack …’
But YOU know that your story takes your character/s on a life-changing journey, full of meaning.
This workshops guides the writer towards the tools for fixing this negative perception of your story: how to manipulate conflict and crisis, choice and dilemma, to sweep readers into and through the story, gripping with every page.
This workshop intends to:
- Give you the confidence to explore solutions that feel right for your own vision.
- Develop the tools to find inherent Action & and Dramatic Tension in your story, bring it to the surface and develop it.
- Help you understand key components and techniques for creating, developing and maintaining Action and Dramatic Tension.
- Help you understand what might be undermining it in your work as a whole, or in sections.
